ReflexLab is a reaction and memory training game. It's designed to be a fun, competitive way to benchmark yourself across 5 unique modes: Classic, Rapid Fire, Stroop, Phantom Ring, and Flash Recall.

Yes. ReflexLab is free to download and play, and it is supported by ads.

Classic and Phantom Ring have 5 rounds per session. Rapid Fire is a single 3-second burst. Stroop is a single 15-second continuous session. Flash Recall has no set number of rounds — it keeps going until three misses end the run. Daily Challenge matches the round structure of whatever mode is rotated for that day.

It's a conflict between reading (automatic) and color identification (controlled). Your brain wants to read the word, but ReflexLab asks you to tap only when the word and the ink actually agree — and to sit still when they don't. Overriding that reflex is what slows you down and causes mistakes. ReflexLab's Stroop mode adds extra difficulty with 5 different fonts and random casing.

No reaction time test is perfectly accurate due to hardware latency (screen refresh, touch sensors). However, ReflexLab uses millisecond precision timing and modern smartphones typically have very low latency. The real value is in tracking your improvement over time on the same device.

Cloud Identity is an optional feature that creates an anonymous identifier, so a score of yours can appear on the leaderboards. It is not an account and not a backup. It does not require an email, phone number, or any personal information — just a display name.

Go to your Profile screen to activate. You'll be asked to set a display name. Once activated, a score is published to that mode's board whenever you beat your best for the week. Nothing else leaves the device.

Yes. Go to Profile and tap your current display name to edit it. Note: This can only be done once every 30 days.

Your display name, an anonymous identifier, and the one score per mode that is on this week's leaderboard. Your session history, personal bests, streaks and Daily Challenge results are never uploaded. We store no name, email, phone number, or browsing history, and your scores are not tied to any real-world identity. Note that this covers what WE store: the ads and analytics services the app uses separately process an advertising ID and approximate IP-based location, which the Privacy Policy sets out in full. Your streak counts consecutive days you've played at least one session (any mode). The counter resets to zero if you miss a full calendar day.

The app offers to put it back the next time you open it. Restoring it means watching a short ad. The offer is open for 48 hours after the break, and only if you were away no more than three days. Past that, the streak starts again from one.

When you open the app after missing a day, a dialog offers to restore your streak. Tap RESTORE to watch a short ad and get it back. LATER only closes the dialog. The offer stays open, and the broken-streak icon on the Home screen reopens it until the 48 hours run out.

Each mode has its own global leaderboard, and they all reset every Monday at 00:00 UTC. Classic ranks by your best round in milliseconds (lower is better, with your session average as the tiebreaker). Stroop ranks by Adjusted Score in milliseconds (lower is better). Rapid Fire ranks by tap count (higher is better). Phantom Ring ranks by average error in pixels (lower is better). Flash Recall ranks by longest sequence recalled (higher is better), then total correct taps, then faster average recall.

You need to activate Cloud Identity first. Without it, your scores are stored locally only and not submitted to the global leaderboard.

It resets at UTC 00:00.

The mode rotates daily. You can see today's mode on the Daily Challenge card on the home screen.

No. You get exactly one attempt per day. This is by design — it makes the Daily Challenge a true test of your best performance under pressure.

Yes. Every player in the world gets the exact same challenge each day. This ensures that the competition is fair for everyone.

Follow the instructions on our Delete Data page. You can delete all local data and your Cloud Identity from within the app.

See our full Privacy Policy. In summary: anonymous analytics (Firebase Analytics/Crashlytics), ad-related data (Google AdMob), and optionally your Cloud Identity data (display name + scores).

Scores save on your device and need no internet connection, so try closing and reopening the app first. Note that ReflexLab has no account and no cloud backup: if you uninstalled the app, cleared its data, or moved to a new device, your history and streaks are gone and cannot be recovered. Leaderboard rankings are separate and do need a connection. If the problem persists, contact us at [email protected].
